Our Rector

Our Rector is Rev’d Canon Lynsay Braybrooke, who was ordained in 2005, after completing formation and her BTh(Hons) at Ripon College, Cuddesdon (Oxford). Since then she has served a curacy in Wolverhampton; as a team vicar in Rugeley, Staffordshire; and as Rector to the linked charges of Penicuik and West Linton in Edinburgh Diocese of the SEC, where she served on the ‘Play Church’ and ‘International Mission’ committees. She is also the founder of the Astonishing Community. She has recently been made Seabury Canon of Christ Church cathedral, Hartford, Connecticut.

Before ordination Lynsay taught English as a foreign language with the British Council in Hungary to: school students; army officers and private soldiers working with Nato; Albanian radio operators working with Nato; Romanies attending human rights conferences; adults of various nationalities, bilingual children and a special course in English for EU purposes to Hungarian civil service officials. This was natural as she holds a BA(Hons) in European Studies from Hull and speaks fluent Hungarian.
