Glory to God, Source of all being, Eternal Word and Holy Spirit;*as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever.  Amen. Thursdays: From Psalm 41. 1 Happy are they who consider the poor and needy!*the Lord will deliver them in the time of trouble.2 The Lord preserves them and keeps them alive,so that they may be happy in the land;*he does not hand them over to the will of their enemies.3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed*and ministers to them in their illness.4 I said, ‘Lord, be merciful to me;*heal me, for I have sinned against you.’5 My enemies are saying wicked things about me:*‘When will he die, and his name perish?’6 Even if they come to see me, they speak empty words;*their heart collects false rumours;they go outside and spread them.7 All my enemies whisper together about

Tuesdays: From Psalm 62, 1 For God alone my soul in silence waits;*from him comes my salvation.2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,*my stronghold, so that I shall not be greatly shaken.3 How long will you assail me to crush me, all of you together,*as if you were a leaning fence, a toppling wall?4 They seek only to bring me down from my place of honour;*lies are their chief delight.5 They bless with their lips,*but in their hearts they curse.6 For God alone my soul in silence waits;*truly, my hope is in him.7 He alone is my rock and my salvation,*my stronghold, so that I shall not be shaken.8 In God is my safety and my

Evening Prayer 29th March

Passion Sunday This evening we join again in prayerful solidarity, by placing a lit candle* in our windows as “a visible symbol of the light of life, Jesus Christ, the source of hope in this life.” As we do so we pray: For all that is good in life, thank you,For the love of family and friends, thank you,For the kindness of good neighbour and Samaritan stranger, thank you. May those who are vulnerable, hungry or homeless, experience support,May those who are sick, know healing,May those who are anxious or bereaved, sense comfort. Bless and guide political leaders and decision-makers, with wisdom,Bless and guide health workers and key workers, with strength and well-being,Bless and guide each one of us, as we adapt to a new way of living. And may the light shining from our windows, across road and wynd, glen and ben, kyle and isle,be reflected in our hearts and hands and hopes. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. The Suffering
